Hanging Out with Feathered Flying Creatures!

I just thought I’d come up with a more interesting title rather than the worn-out “birds of a feather …” I’m sure that title caught your eye and that’s probably why you’re reading this article.

So let’s get straight to the crux of this article, which is: what and who do you surround yourself with? Who do you hang out with? Do you surround yourself with positive people who encourage you and push you towards your goal or negative and draining people who tell you “this won’t work”; especially those who think they know you too well and know that you’ll never amount to much in life? Funny how people can psychologically oppress their fellow human beings by discouraging rather than encouraging them.

Maybe you’re subconsciously placing barriers on what you’re capable of achieving? Are you robbing yourself and those who depend on you of the quality of life you all deserve because of the barriers you’ve allowed society to place on you? Are you willing to at least try and break that barrier? Speaking of barriers, have you heard of a man called Roger Bannister?

Roger was a medical student at Oxford University in the 1950s and is famous for breaking the “unbreakable, not humanly possible” 4-minute-mile barrier. Almost everyone at the time thought it was impossible to run a mile in less than 4 minutes, but not Roger Bannister, who in 1954 on the 6th of May, ran the mile in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds. This opened the floodgates and by 1958, the record had been lowered to 3 minutes 43.13 seconds. Incredible what a little belief can do; nearly 20 seconds off the record in only 4 years. Amazing!

It’s a known fact – I’m sure you’ll agree – that those you surround yourself with determine your destiny eventually. It has been scientifically proven that the average earnings of your closest friends will be similar to yours, so why not hang out with those who are wealthy and ambitious, people who’ll pull you up rather than pull you down?

As I mentioned in an earlier article, network marketing is the best business model I’ve come across and it works excellently if you’re willing to put in the required, appropriate effort. If it isn’t working for you, then invest in yourself just like the top earners do. Read self-improvement books, listen to inspirational CDs , learn as much as you can about the industry and take massive action if you want massive results.

Remember that “whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve” as long as you recognize that each ‘failure’ brings you one step closer to success and as long as you don’t repeat the actions that led to past failures.

If “old skool” prospecting is working for you, you can still improve on your results by working smarter by utilizing the massive opportunities available on the internet. I have, that’s why you’re reading this blog today. You can do this too; I’m not ‘techy’ in any way. The only reason I’m still in this industry is that I have a ‘never-give-up’ attitude which I wasn’t born with; I had to develop this attitude over several years and several failures so I’m nothing special. If I can do it, trust me you can too.

Remember that everything that exists today was non-existent at some point. The majority tend to be cynical that’s why most people remain in that “crowd mentality” and don’t really believe massive success is possible in their lives. Never follow the crowd because you’ll only get the results that they get and the frustrations that they have.

Temper your belief with reality though; Roger Bannister wouldn’t have run the mile in 3:43:13 (the 1958 record) in 1954. It was a gradual process. So it is in this industry, but there’s usually what I call the ‘big-bang’ moment which will happen to you just as it did to Bannister on the 6th of May 1954, if you get the right training and persist.

Your success will come massively if you take massive action and act fast. I did and it’s the best decision I’ve made in my entire life!

Thanks for reading.

Take care; take action.
